The Kestrel Companion application istheperfect complement to your Applied Ballistics Kestrel WeatherMeterfor remote viewing of your shooting solution. NOTE: Forthisapplication to work it required that you are running version4.83and above of the Applied Ballistics Kestrel Firmware. Inaddition,it requires Bluetooth.Now, you can mount your Applied Ballistics Kestrel device onarotating weather-vane mount, update the range to target, andviewthe solution right on your phone – all without touchingtheKestrel. The large display on your phone or tablet allows aquickview of the elevation and windage holds as well as thecurrentweather conditions and gun parameters.By placing the Applied Ballistics Kestrel in wind-capture mode,yourshooting solution will automatically update on the displaywith themeasured wind values and wind direction.How It Works----------------------As of Applied Ballistics Kestrel firmware version 4.83,thedevelopers at Applied Ballistics have addedremote-controlcapability over the Bluetooth link. This allows forthe range totarget to be entered into the Kestrel Companionapplication andsent directly to the Kestrel. The Kestrel instantlycomputes theshooting solution and sends it back to the Companionapplication –displaying it for easy viewing.Features----------------------1) Maximize the capability of your Applied Ballistics Kestrelbyallowing it to directly measure the wind speed and directionandstill easily view your shooting solution2) Remote control of your Applied Ballistics Kestrel overtheBluetooth Link3) View your shooting solution on a large screenEnabling Live Wind Capture (Firmware Version 4.83)----------------------1) From the solution screen on your Applied BallisticsKestrel,pressing the CAMERA button while Wind is highlighted willenter theWind Capture mode.2) The label will change to "W>" to indicate that theWindCapture mode is enabled.3) The moving 5-second average for windage and wind speed willbecontinually displayed on the wind line.4) The 5-second rolling average wind measurement will be capturedinWind Speed 1 and the highest wind speed will be captured inWindSpeed 2. This allows you to accurately bracket the windspeedvalues as well as your shooting solution.5) When in Wind Capture Mode and connected to the KestrelCompanionapplication, your windage holds will automatically updateon yourAndroid device.
